When I started my voiceover business, I didn't know where to go. I saw a YouTube video on ACX and went to the website and began my voiceover journey.

ACX has played such a vital road in my success that I always recommend people start there. But I also wanted to give you a secret way I make money on ACX that most people don't know about or use.

Oh! So THAT’S how I got my one and only job on ACX! (So what if it was tiny and only Royalty Share. At least it was experience.) I was contacted within a couple of hours of uploading a new children’s sample. I wondered about that!

I am happy to know I can use my audition scripts for my samples. I have thought of adding samples, but didn't know what to narrate. Now I know. I will give this a try. Like you, I would like people to contact me if they like my voice. I keep auditioning, but so far no contracts. I am a beginner and have not yet had any offers. Getting frustrated. I will try this technique.

This is really good advice, I did this without even knowing once when I put up samples because I immediately got sent a contract for something I didn’t even audition for. Love that

I'm super late to this video but great advice! Question though. Can I recycle samples? Say I have 10 up there. I delete the oldest one and repost it to the 'newest' one. Can I do that or should I just keep making new samples?

Thanks so much for this Anthony! While I have a profile on ACX and have done two children's book narrations so far, I was unaware of this trick. I usually just checked out what was available and sent in auditions. I just uploaded three of my samples in the "producers for hire" section and will continue to do so every few days! Your videos are pretty incredible. I am learning so much from them and I appreciate the time and effort that goes into them!

Do remember that rights holders often filter down to the voices they are looking for. So that "scary" voice I used in July can be heard when someone searches for "scary, American-general, male" or what have you. Just to say, while I also agree it's good practice to get some up every day or two, those we post in the past are also seen in more specific nuanced searches.

Also, I would argue that this is actually the real "main" way I get jobs on ACX!

Great info. So someone like myself who is very limited on time, would it be okay to delete the samples you have and upload them again so it goes to the top? Do you have training on how to format your audio to their specs? I am using audacity and am learning the software but am eager to get started and just need a quick crash course to get me started.
