You have a great take on Emilie and I'm happy to hear a CC share my perspective about her value: as someone who only does damage and nothing else, she scales with DPS investment. You can't treat her like a low-investment support or utility character, which obviously has its pros and cons. I like her a lot – design, animations, kit – and I pulled her C0R1, which matches or surpasses all other characters on my account, and as a result she feels great and I'm having a lot of fun with her. Though, of course the benefit of liking a character is that they would feel great and I'd be having fun even if they were technically weak!

i do think that her sound and visual effects are what makes her "feel like she's doing little" rather than her actual performance

People see her only as an on off field dps, but then overlook the type of utility she gives. She is the difference between a traditional reverse melt or forward vape and a burnmelt/burnvape dps. And her damage makes up for it. Additionally, she enables off field dps or on field dps to hold the Unfinished Reverie set which improves all dmg types, not jsut elemental burst or elemental skill which is a majority of dmg for some characters but also neglects the other dmg types in their kit.

Emilie's own utility passive for burnign dmg reduction is also a smart way to trigger Marechaussee hunter for any melee characters who dont run with Furina for a burnvape or burnmelt setup. Wrio and Neuvillette can already run the set so we will need to wait and see.

Emilie is a fairly good pickup rn, but she will only get better when Natlan gives more pieces to the puzzle. A cryo Yae Miko or Yelan would be an excellent partner for an Emilie setup. Could even be a cryo Navia and it would be an easy way to get some high damage with burning's pyro aura consistency.

I also like how Emilie gave more value to Dehya who could be a utilitarian support via deepwood/ToM holder, pyro application, and some interruption resistance + dmg mitigation to boot.

A cryo Yae Miko/Chiori would turn Dehya into a driver assisted by Emilie, and a flex slot last slot (doesnt need to be sustain support if Dehya remains on field the entire time).

Pulled her, and already don't regret it. She uses my Missive Windspear quite nicely, she provides consistent pyro uptime, and overall makes rotations on my favorite teams more comfortable. I pulled her, Yelan, and Tighnari, all for the first time, in the same patch, and my account couldn't feel better as a result.

"Emilie can't do anything new, she does things that were already possible" was exactly what people said about Yelan upon release, since she's 5-star Xingqiu.

there has always been significant drama and criticism about supports, healers, and sub-DPS in genshin meta. if you play a team long enough, you start to notice the holes in your team's DMG output, compatibility, energy requirements, etc. you need to pull support characters who fill the holes in your teams. emilie is one of the characters who can do such a thing, but she is simply a choice. there is no "best" choice. the "best" choice is simply what fills the hole in the team you play.

I have no regrets so far, she is great at her job and I will definitely get her constellations if possible when she reruns (The 4* here are way too bad n I gotta save for Xilonen 😂)

Not gonna lie, I'm on the fence. I was initially set on skipping her from the start but when I was trying her out in the current event earlier today, I could feel how much better than Nahida she was in multiwave contents. And I mean that literally, I got better scores with the cope trial Emilie compared to my own lv.90 Nahida.
She provides a lot of comfort and is consistent in what she's doing, and that's usually my main drive for pulling for anyone. I'll leave the choice to god.

I think you summed it up nicely. Basically buyer beware for any character whose value is strictly tied to the number on the screen. I like her, but that's because I don't need her to out dps my old ones. She gets the job done that's enough for me, but it may not be for others.

I don't know man. End of region characters have a record of not being received well but end up being very valuable in the next region. We cannot gauge her true pull value yet which is where the rerun comes in. I got her and I find her great in Nilou bloom until we get more units in Natlan that will probably make her main gimmick shine. She's definitely the best team mate for Kinnich, we know that much.

She was surprisingly exactly what my account needed because it allowed me to rearrange my characters into two abyss ready teams. Some of the characters could use some more artifact farming and talent levelling but I got 2/2/1 stars on floor 12 as is so I'm getting close!

I got Yelan on her first banner and I didn't regret it.

And now I got Emilie on her first banner and I doubt I'll regret it

As a sub dps that is dealing unbuffed damage and competing with sub dpses like fischl and Xiangling that have access to about 5 buffs in their team, Emilie’s damage really stands out above other dps, and I can’t wait to for her to have a proper deepwood holder in her team, cus my Emilie with deepwood deals more damage than any sub dps I currently have and I have all of them, so I really can’t wait to get kinich so that when any character holds deepwood in the team it would be useful for both him and Emilie, cus if you are trying to give deepwood to any member of the team with the current teams that Emilie has access to now, it would be detrimental to the team cus she is still a sub dps and cannot compete with the likes of Lyney, or arlechinno in terms of damage in those teams so I just can’t wait for Natlan to get kinich
And I can say that Emilie deals a lot of damage with a deepwood holder in the team, more damage than any sub dps in the game

I got C2 Yelan and Aqua instead haha.
Im leveling YaoYao as my other dendro after Nahida to use with Keqing.
Im heavily considering skiping all the natlan bs honestly.
They will make characters that need eachother and are not very good with older characters and i already have like 28 build characters lol.

Chevreuse enabled a new composition people weren't really using. Emilie just does dps under a certain circumstance. I feel like Emilie needs her own Chevreuse support, but for Pyro/Dendro - then she'd be truly powerful.

She's a good character, but I feel like I can't find anywhere to put her. Clorinde already has her best team with Fischl and Furina, Arlechino has vape and melt as best teams, she doesn't work as well for Neuvillette, and I don't play Ganyu/Rizzley. And she can't burn certain bosses/infused bosses. Seems to me like she isn't that versatile and is purely for Natlan meta.

She'd be a must pull for me if she was a Nilou-like character completely changing an elemental reaction and becoming the new core for team comps, instead she is the one relying on a reaction to accomplish decent damage at most.

Best choice is to wait and see what Natlan has in store. People will be able to use burning just fine even without her

i only pulled for her to play her in a wrio burnmelt team but trying to build enough er on her without her signature weapon is a nightmare. for now i definitely regret pulling for her because the team just doesn't feel as good as i thought it would, but i'm planning on pulling for kinich, so hopefully she will work better with him.

I feel like her burn damage reduction has potential to make her very valuable as a comfort character if they add more burning mechanics and enemies to the game

I'm actually relieved to hear this i was worried she was a must pull for kinich to be that good since i want both him and his weapon and im trying to save wishes. To hear furina will work just as well for him is good
