aside from the tragedy of her concept art going to waste, I still think that her design could have been salvaged with some tweaks to her overall color palette. The green dress is really bold, the shade of blonde for her hair, and her eyes really clash with that.

the only criticism i have about her design is the GREEN. not every dendro character has to be GREEN, hoyo… 🤦‍♀️ i think the lavender and periwinkle accents would’ve made her design impeccable, but i love her outfit regardless! still a great design, just bad choice of color 😅

the thing is, it was not just one concept art… there were like 15-20 different concepts with such good elements and colors, and in the end they just took Lisa's sumeru skin and slapped on a blonde with pink gradient and glasses 🧍

edit: the Lisa's skin parameter I used was meant to be a comparison, meaning it resembles so much that you would think they took inspiration from it
plus I'm not really hating on it, just wished they were more creative on their choices

I can understand why folks are upset because the concept art actually looks like a perfumer from Fontaine while the other one doesn't fit the theme or location. It's too eccentric for someone who's supposed to be a perfumer, she looks like a fashion designer or a scholar from sumeru. Major missed there Hoyo.

Well... As an artist, i think she's not ugly i just think they would've match the colors a little better. Its the same problem i have with Baizhu's design.
But everyone just had different expectations and it's honestly their fault because i BET most of them searched those leaks intentionally, i only saw one leaked design of her and i use yt and Instagram frequently.

I never really saw green as a color that screamed "hey I smell good". Purple screams lavender and flowers.

It's not exactly because of this specific concept art, its because of ALL of them. She actually had a plenty of these and every single one looked mesmerising.
But in the end they didn't use any of the ideas and gave her a completely different (and more basic compared to the rest) design...
I would honestly love this one if I didn't see her concepts before. Ehh..

To be fair im genuinely tired of seeing hoyo needing to match the design of a character to their vision

Look at Beidou, Kazuha, Yunjin, Heizou, Childe, Wriothesley, Kaveh and Charlotte, they dont have a design that matched with their vision yet they still looked good

Yeah because it’s a concept art… concept arts are not meant to look exactly like the finished products. Plus I think she looks really elegant, I don’t know why all the hate for a character we don’t know yet, and she looks like she would have ties with Alice so for me she’s even cooler
