Why Emilie Banner Selling So Low? - Genshin Impact

Emilie's banner sales from Genshin Impact are very low and she is the most skipped character in this version. Her sales are even lower than Yelan's and it seems like no one is interested in Emilie.

- This is Yelan's fourth banner, yet she can still surpass Emilie's first banner in sales.
- Emilie is less popular than Yelan, and in terms of lore, Emilie has only just appeared, so not many people know her or want to be her fans. Additionally, she is not a very important character, which makes her less interesting.
- Hoyoverse also doesn’t seem to invest much in popularizing this character because they are focused on Natlan.
- Emilie’s design is one of her weakest points. Many feel her current design is ordinary and uninteresting. Her concept art is considered more appealing because it features a unique design, unlike her official design, which seems boring and repetitive.
- The Fontaine arc is almost over, and with Natlan approaching, the hype is entirely focused on that. Given the choice, most would naturally prefer to save for a Natlan character rather than Emilie.

For me:
1. She didn't contribute/appear in the main quest, so her impact is low
2. Her design looks like she can pass as a Sumeru scholar.
3. Natlan's coming. There's more hype with the Natlan characters than her.
4. She just....suddenly appeared, for no apparent reason 😅 emphasis on the "no apparent reason"

I have a feeling she will have the kazuha or Kokomi treatment, very much regretted with new units

Another reason is she's a filler character. She doesn't take part in Archon quests or limited quests so don't know how her personality is.

I think this is one of hoyo marketting plan.
They make a "almost storyless" character with medium kit before release natlan. So people will saving for natlan character. But they also add yelan in there so they will not lack money in that current time. People who have roll for yelan need to collect more primo for natlan too so they have to grind more which increase genshin play time and some of them might end up paid money.

I genuinely had wanted her but by the time she was around I was busy with a trip and had ended up forgetting about her😢

It's aunt vibe on a teenage body because her image took after one of the high-up in hoyo. It was changed forcibly and suddenly. Thus, the color palette of weapon is so inconsistent with the character. The trailer and teaser were released so late probably because they had to rework them.

Personally, she wasn't even in the archon quest or any event quests before this. So we never got the time to actually get to know her before hand.

A lot of the characters I pick to pull for are those who we meet and get to know before their banners come out. And the only time we get to know her is in her own story quest... Which was released at the same time as her banner.

No one mentioned the 4 star lineup. Yeah most people already owned C6 Xiangling, Razor and Yanfei, they could've try putting more diverse characters but they ruined it anyway. Maybe this is one of the reasons the banner sell so low

IMO, the biggest reason is how niche burn is right now. It IS possible that burn will suddenly pop off once some Pyro Natlan units (perhaps even the Archon) gets released. But right now, it's just not worth it to pull her yet.

I'm f2p and I started around 3 to 4 months ago. Emilie is my first limited 5 star (lost 50/50 on Clorinde banner). I still haven't built her fully, but she's amazing in my opinion. Her gameplay isn't the most interesting, but I really liked her design. I think her moveset and animations fit her personality pretty well. I still didn't do her story quest, but I've seen some scenes on yt, and I liked her personality too, although, her voice is a bit surprsing and I find it weird they chose the medium model.

They need make her rerun with Kinich rerun later, so people will know about Burning Team. Like before, people don't pull for Kazuha, becasue its before inazuma, and people pull for Ayaka / Yoimiya. And after Kazuha Rerun, his banner going Crazy
