Sapper Knots! This video, I go over how to tie, purpose, and checkpoints of Middle of The Rope Figure 8 Slip Knot. You can use this knot to help build the one-rope bridge at Sapper school.

Purpose: To form an adjustable bight in a rope.

Checkpoints:
1.) The knot is in the shape of figure 8.
2.) An adjustable bight passes through one loop of the figure 8.

Hopefully this video will help prepare you for Sapper school and at least know what to expect. Don’t forget, the easy part is tying the knot, the hard part is memorizing the purpose & checkpoints.
