Sapper Knots! This video, I go over how to tie, purpose, and checkpoints of the Two Loop Figure 8 knot. You will use this knot during the rigging of the Zodiac at Sapper school to secure equipment onto the Zodiac.

Purpose: Used to form two adjustable fixed loops in a rope.

Checkpoints:
1.) Two ropes running side by side in the shape of a figure 8.
2.) The knot has two adjustable fixed loops.
3.) The loops are adjustable by means of a common locking bar at the bottom of the knot.
4.) Minimum of 4” pigtails and no twists.

Hopefully this video will help prepare you for Sapper school and at least know what to expect. Don’t forget, the easy part is tying the knot, the hard part is memorizing the purpose & checkpoints.
