I've seen that Cambly students record their classes and then post them here in Youtube without permission!

Thank you, Charlie! Your video is spot on! I have been with Cambly for almost 11 months and agree with all your comments. Like you, this is added income for me. The flexibility is the number one attraction for me. I am retired and share time with my wife, mother, and a growing number of grandchildren. Cambly lets me work around these aspects of my life. Other sites pay more, yes, but you lose flexibility.

I've been working on Cambly for nearly 6 months and it's been great for the most part but I can definitely say that the problems Charlie describes such as flashers and the like are a real thing.

However in recent times Cambly has put more measures in place to monitor those issues and Tutors have the power to block or get these type of people permanently banned from the site.

The pay isn't great but then again Cambly's only a side hustle for most of us and the money should be looked at as supplementary income that comes in handy.

I just want to mention that currency differences and conversion rates vary from country to country.

In Australia where I'm from $10.20USD per hour usually ends up being around $16-17AUD

So what may seem like a measly amount to a Tutor in the US or the UK could actually be enough for a Tutor in Australia or New Zealand to pay their monthly mobile (cell) phone bill or to even do a small amount of grocery shopping.

I work on Cambly 3 days a week and I've personally been able to do a small amount of grocery shopping and pay a minor bill with the money I get from Cambly (and that's without using any money from my main income)

The pay is above minimum wage where I live.

I have to say I made half the money you mentioned at a local cafe as a barista and it was so so tiring with so much human interaction and the pay was awful compared to this

I did it for a while... it was totally fun and a great experience but I averaged $4.13 an hour with all the time between "calls" that I did not get paid for. Had to say goodbye to that.

I stopped teaching on Cambly a while back and started my own teaching business and never looked back. Stay away from these companies and start your own business. If I could do it, so can you.

I got a male student master, and I am a male teacher. I was so shocked, first bad experience in about 3 years.

Your video is so accurate! I decided to give Cambly a try and have been with them for six months now. I've really enjoyed it overall. Pay is more reliable than other platforms and the relaxed format is nice. Build those regular students and it's a breeze. Just don't expect to make bank. I teach with them to supplement my "day" job lol

well, if 10.2 dollars an hour is the pay, taking into consideration that you would do a standard 9 to 5 work schedule with weekends off, that would mean around 1600 per month which is very very good over here in Bosnia...

Great video and honest review...but one thing, you need a good mic or adjust the audio becuz it's defening when the intro comes after ur voice

I tutor on Cambly part-time. I'm also an ESL teacher in real-time where I reside outside my home country. The only thing I dislike about Cambly (other than the low pay), are the b*ttheads that sometimes call my profile. You can teach/tutor your heart out and they still rate poorly. What's up with that??? I have a great group of regular students but most of them do not have regular schedules due to their jobs or school committments. How would you recommend getting your regulars to commit to reserving at certain set hours?

P.s. I've not experienced a flasher but I have experienced a prankster who tried to scare me with a strange "act". I clicked ban.

I'm doing all I can right now to be able to completely quit Cambly. I don't like the setup of the platform at all. It feels like call center work 🙁

Hey, Charlie! How do you gently deter students that may be crossing boundaries such as asking for your social media accounts or your phone number, without offending them and affecting your rating?

When I used to teach in Tokyo, some of our female teachers were flashed or sexually harassed in class. This was before the on-line teaching era.
