the quickest way out of this endless doomscrolling is to find an honest and accurate concise nonwestern news media source, that does not force you to keep scrolling endlessly to accurately determine what is going on.

I had deleted insta and FB after watching social dilemma and really it makes me feel more calm and carefree, those social media were like a burden in some way...

This is a big issue and is impacting so many people. I had to distance myself from someone I loved because they were doomscrolling all these podcast for hours on end and became obsessed with conspiracy theories. More than that, they became hostile because I was not willing to align my thoughts with them. It’s an addiction.

I once thought ignoring it may be a way to continue the relationship. That tactic won’t work. They become more aggressive and hostile to include constantly sending me whatever they have read / watched despite being told I was not interested. People who doomscroll can begin to think they know the truth and anyone who doesn’t agree or want to watch what they are consuming is brainwashed.

If any of this sounds familiar, protect your mental health if this is occurring in your life. No matter how much you care about someone it is up to them to get help and change.

The best thing to do before going to bed is reading a spiritual book for a few minutes and meditate for a few minutes.

Thank you wion for this. Please do
a piece on watching so called debates on Indian channels that are really SHOUTING MATCHES by some pseudo intellectual moderators and panelists. I know win is the best international news channel in India, and it does good research before delivering.

I got rid of everything except YouTube. If there are certain things I want to watch I just save for later. Don't watch anything stressful at night. I watch only things that are helpful. I stick to the people who i have subscribed to.

Am I the only one to notice that the way this reporter is reporting the news reminds me of Palki Sharma, her body language, her pauses between words and sentences, her way of explaining things... Aren't they?
