Cops often ask people dumb questions as a fishing tactic to get them to confess to a crime or to get probable cause. So, how should you answer these questions so you don't get in further trouble? Here are my suggested responses.

They recently passed a law in California that cops must state the reason for pulling you over before questioning you and it honestly should be a law in every state

That car search one is a trap. The way the question is worded, the cop will claim you gave consent regardless of whether you answer yes or no. The only way to answer is, "I do not give consent to search my vehicle".

Annofficer asked my brother in law if he had been drinking, he said yes.. he was asked when his last drink was, he said just before i got in the car... He was then given a sobriety test and blew a 0.000... the officer was confused and asked what he was drinking, and my brother in law told him "Dr Pepper, why?"

I had a cop ask me if I had been drinking, and I replied that I don't drink. He was upset with my reply and said that's not what I asked you. I just stared back in silence. He then walked away.

I like the "Where are you coming from/going?" question the most. I act shocked and say "I didn't know I had to call and check in."

Important: After you refuse to answer questions, field sobriety, etc. You will be arrested (probably), but that's okay! They were going to do it anyways, but now they have absolutely fuck all against you. And when your lawyer gets there, he/she is going to have a field day. Most importantly, you're going to be just fine.
