Nah Gear 5 is the pinnacle of Luffys power as stated in Wano. If anything he might have different forms during G5 like what G4 had (snake, bounce, tank).

You are forgetting something important, when they revealed the true name of Luffy's fruit the Gorosei talked like they were talking about a legend

I’m loving this. Lowkey, I’m thinking Imu and the Goresei ate a different type of Devil Fruit called a God Fruit, Divine fruit or something along those lines. This would probably explain the strange aura. I feel like that would make sense since they already consider them selves Gods, and their powers are pretty demonic opposed to most Devil Fruits abilities. Or, maybe them and Luffy/Joyboy ate the worlds first Devil Fruits, and other Devil Fruit abilities stem from these abilities. Also While I believe the Goresei are strong, all of them being above Yonko Level, and then Imu being in a tier of his own would be pretty ridiculous. We already have the God knights and Admirals who are already presumed to be extremely powerful. I’m thinking Imu is probably the strongest in the series, while the Elders are in a tier between First Commander and Yonko/Admirals. Unless the marines turn against the world government for some big twist, I don’t think theirs enough characters to fight Imu + Elders + Admirals + God Knights and all of them be Yonko level. If anyone reads this let me know how y’all fell

Also, I feel sure Saturn let it happen. In the Raw scan he looks unperturbed. Like how sometimes a little kid is punching your leg, but doesn’t mean anything. And you’re just letting them take their anger out.

Couple things:
- Gear 6 is out. We sat on 2 different versions of gear 4th forEVER(bounce and tank), until we finally got snake man. Then we sat on _that_ forever before Oda finally gave us Gear 5th. So with Gear 5 barely introduced at the ending of the *last* think it would be redundant to force Luffy into a 6th gear.
- However, i feel it would be vastly more likely/appropriate if Luffy was able to improve his G5 DF powers to emulate the feeling of an upgrade, a la Snake man. Or even tankman(to a lesser extent)
- Plus, why would Oda tell us (through Luffy) that G5 was the pinnacle of what the Luffy could do with the Nika fruit, if it was just gonna be tossed out for a 6th gear? (improvements to G5 is _not_ the same as a new Gear Tier)

Yes, but then Oda would have just burned a(nother) bridge with the readers. NO ONE is effected by a tragic death of a beloved character anymore, because Oda burned that bridge several times over. So even though he still tries to carry weight when characters DO die, it falls on deaf ears, because everyone is torn between believing it and calling the bluff. Even when the realization happens months later, "oh, they really are dead", it's too late. The emotional weight was missed, and the moment was wasted.
It got to emotionally taxing to put up with it again ang again and again, so readers don't bother anymore. It's a sad truth, and a rare blemish on Oda as a mangaka, but to many times did he want to have his cake & eat it too. So essentially doing that same thing with the sanctity of the Gear system would absolutely Mother Flame that bridge

- I personally don't think the Marines head exploded as a power/trait/skill of Saturn's DF.
At first, when the guys head exploded from looking at him, i thought it was from some random High AF tier, completely Op World Gov. sniper that capped anyone dumb enough to ignore the order. (To keep the people who see Saturn as low as possible, enforced under penalty of death, y'know?)
- But with the specific inclusion that only certain ranks and higher can even observe him, (and the implication that a Marines haki HAS to be several orders of magnitude stronger with each rank you attain), i feel it's almost silly to claim the head exploding is anything other than God Tier haki. (His conquerors Haki weeding out any/everyone below a certain threshold, and his God lever advanced-armament Haki, using its innate ability to physically explode things from the inside out. It all fits)

The gorosei are strong but they definitely bin sweating when they made kaidou mad so they definitely are worried about the yonkou’s ire, not just about the balance but also their strength

the elders have mentioned that the previous government renamed the nika fruit to the gum gum fruit so they may be older than 100 but not all the way to the void century

Oda made a conscious decision to make Haki more prominent than the DF. I think the head explosion and the aura announcement is all advanced Haki...

I don't think the Gorosei are 800 years old, remember when they were talking about luffy's fruit they said it was a legend even to them and asked why the WG changed it's name as if it was they're predecessors who did change
luffy's fruit.

Well, if they essentially dominate the world government and in turn the world at large it would make sense for the Gorosei to have an absurd level of AC Haki. Seeing as haki is the ability to assert and manifest one’s will
