My understanding of getting screened for a TERA is that you first have to apply to VA Health. I did that and got denied because my income is apparently too high. I spray painted with CARC paint back in 1982 and I’ve developed respiratory problems since. So I went to a private pulmonologist and had CT chest scans, pulmonary function tests, and a methacholine challenge test. I got diagnosed with Reactive Airways Dysfunction Syndrome, nasal polyps, and severe sleep apnea. I’ll be filing a claim for disability next month.

But only that one hospital? What about the rest of us?

All they did was an interview. Screening needs to include blood work for the presence of those toxins. In my case, I am told that exposure to AO would show Dioxin present in my system. It would also show a lot of other chemicals, especially in the more recent Veterans case.
