The 2020 Lexus ES 250 is the latest competitor in the premium executive sedan segment going against the Mercedes-Benz E-Class and BMW 5 Series.

Although the 2.5L Dynamic Force NA engine is nothing to shout about in terms of performance, it makes the ES 250 the smoothest driving car in the class. Watch how Adrian drools over the Lexus ES!

Apologies everyone, we've made a mistake for the fuel economy (9:15).

The correct claimed fuel economy for the Lexus ES 250 is 15 km/L which translates to 6.6L/100 km.

I couldn't agree more with your final sentence in the video, "Lexus is created to challenge the best of Mercedes Benz with their reliability."
Still having my 2012 Lexus IS as a daily horse and its refinement still at its best despite over 8 years old now!

Good review! Apple car play is available on all 2020 cars as a fyi. I had the same concern when I was considering this car.

Couldn’t agree with you more.
It just has so much more presence as compared to its German rivals.
And the quality and style is just in a class of its own.
People buy the Germans to impress others, but those who buy the Lexus are out to impress themselves.
It’s a quiet luxury.

Great review Adrian. A beautiful Lexus, even the huge grill looks ok. Total luxury. It's possible that we only get the hybrid in the UK :-)

In the US we get the 6 cylinder 302 aspirated engine…I have this car and the 6 cylinder. Six seconds to 60 miles an hour. It’s an extraordinary car on almost every level…

Me: I love the 2019 Lexus ES 250 2.5 Luxury because its is a cheap, 300hp dual turbo engine, big boot space, easy to use infotainment with class leading touchpad, colourful dashboard, flat steering, ...

Also me : Oh wait....

Quite sad to see the GS gone for good. It's the true rival to RWD Germans from the far East. The GS (and IS) was quite a hard seller. But I can see why. Uncompetitive pricing (at least here), fairly old engine range and lack of some notable advanced tech compared to key European rivals. Although they nailed on the refinement, quality and craftsmanship of such car, it's a bit lacking in terms of dynamic driving experience, something that the keen drivers looking for in this segment.

ES is certainly a unique take on by them targeting at completely different niche. It stay away from the RWD platform, so it's not directly competing 5 series and E class. But thanks to the nature of FWD platform, it's lower in price while increasing interior space to almost big limo class which help attract many buyers that want to be chauffered but don't want to pay S Class money. Renowned reliability, distinctive style and excellent refinement add the cherry on top of the cake ...

2:17 - FYI - those wheels are also the upgraded optional wheels which are noise reduction. And why doesn’t this version have the parking sensors with Safety Sensor 2.0?

At least the ES is a big difference from a Camry now.
