Got my model Y performance two weeks ago. I took a 700 mile road trip immediately after, and I'm loving every minute of it. It's a super comfortable family oriented super-car with plenty of cargo space. My cousin got a Jaguar EV but he couldn't go anywhere due to range issues. Thanks to Tesla's network of fast chargers, my experience has been totally different. We were able to find a supercharger every 10 miles during this trip to Florida's gold coast. The hotel did not have a charger but it wasn't a big deal, since there was a supercharger nearby. Takes 20 minutes to get to 80%, which lasts me 4 days during my vacation. We even went to legoland (2 hours away) without any problems. The bottom line is that if you get an EV, and I think you should, get a Tesla!! -- We are so happy with ours. Just wish they had more colors available, since there are so many nowadays...

I also ordered A Y LR in on March 30 and received a delivery date between Dec 2022 and April 2020. I went ahead and paid the extra $5k for the Performance upgrade and I got my Performance yesterday June 29. It was perfect. I agree with all you say about the Y Performance. Tesla like all other companies want as much money as they can as soon as they can and that is why it is unfortunate that if you spend more, thy put you in front of the line. To me it was worth it since I have to return a lease in 2 months.

Thanks for another informative video, Matt! At 80, my choice is the MY LR, for which I have been waiting eagerly, even though I’m eight months into driving a leased MS LR. Although it’s sublime, and has performed above expectations during two 4400 mile road trips, I have to fall into and crawl out of it. The MY will sit up higher and ease ingress and egress, plus be easier to maneuver into parking spaces and my garage. That said, the MY Performance will always catch my eye!

Good video. I took delivery 2 weeks ago and I’m very happy with my experience so far. As for MYP, yes the drive is a bit stiff, but not that different than a BMW X3 sport. About range, I don’t think I’ll miss the 13miles difference between trims and I do welcome the driving dynamics and the performance. Also LED matrix lights is a difference between trims and the definition on how they cut into the road is amazing, I just hope they enable adaptive light and do the shadows for incoming traffic so I can run high beams at night here in the country side.
Last but not least, not all cars come perfect, in my case the trunk was misaligned and one of the plastic trims on the fenders ended finer reattachment - Tesla took care of that in a couple of hours.
Also, check your wheel alignment- it doesn’t come perfect and you will end up paying the price of wearing them out sooner (may also affect range depending on how bad that is).
All and all, no car comes perfect from factory and imho this is the best car I’ve owned (had BMWs and Audis - all came with diffracts and broke down leaving me stranded on road-trips, hoping to have better luck with Tesla).

same, very smooth ride, not sure what the rest of these slugs are riding in, mine is super smooth and quiet, and not a single body panel, paint or missing function issue at all, MY P! booo Yah!

Hey Matt, thanks for the video and for the rest of your content. I just sold my model 3 and my wife and I are expecting delivery of our Model Y in August. We went with the performance model so I’m thrilled you’re creating additional Model Y performance content! I would love to see 0-60, 1/4 mile and other performance tests if you have the means. I’d also be interested in a watching a real world range test where you drive at 70mph and really test the range of the vehicle. Keep up the great content and thanks again!!

Matt, I wish I could send your script to my English teacher growing up. This would be an A++ report paper; from pauses to paragraph to opinion vs supporting evidence to structure and conclusion. when was your build date? how come you don't have the Michelin All seasons?

I have a MYLR on order and am torn on the performance. I really would like the added pep, but with the way things are here in Alabama, it makes more practical sense to have the range. I figure real world on the MYLR will be between 275-300 depending on how heavy my foot is with it. I got the Deep Blue Metallic, but man that Red is sweet. No VIN yet, so I might talk to my SA about switching. Great videos and got a subscriber out of me. Look forward to upcoming content. Also, at my age, I think I will be more than satisfied with the LR.
