Never want to recommend starting with Zero to a newcomer. It’s a prequel story meant to be watched after the Fate/Stay Night routes. That’s like telling someone to watch the Star Wars prequel trilogy before the Original.
Also, best start will ALWAYS be the Realta Nua visual Novel, no h scenes, but ik not everyone has time to read it.

The thing about Deen's Fate (2006) is not just "oh, the visuals are dated, it has flaws, etc, etc." While those might be reasons for some to not watch it, the biggest one that should be immediately addressed is how it contains spoilers for the other two routes. And I mean HUGE spoilers.
I know most people won't bother to read a long VN (and even less when it isn't easily accesible a.k.a officially localized for modern systems), but I implore anyone interested in getting into the series to start with it.
Anything else aside from Fate/Zero (prequel) and Fate/Hollow Ataraxia (direct sequel)? Think of it as nice side dishes to the main meal. The beginning that explains the concepts and world building is Fate/Stay Night, and the rest are different universes, alternate continuties, timelines, and what have you. Thinking of the series that way personally made the Nasuverse easier to digest for me.

If you like shounen start with UBW, if you like darker Seinen start with Zero. After finish both, you have freedom to follow to any fate series since you have enough context to explore more stories and lore, even the ones he doesn't recommend like FSN (2006) & Fate/Kaleid for exploring more lore.

Before fate grand order (solomon) it might be better to watch the two fate grand order camelot movies since camelot is the singularity before solomon

WRONG. fate zero is a prequel however it’s purpose is to be watched AFTER fate/stay night (2006). So the correct order to get the full movie experience of the 3 main routes (endings)) is fate/stay night (2006), then fate zero, then after that watch fate/stay night: unlimited bladeworks. Then finally, watch fate/stay night heavens feel 1, 2, and 3. Then you can watch the spin offs.
