This is the watch I would have if money were no object. Although Patek makes highly regarded minute repeaters I think perpetual calendar chronographs are what they do best and not only would be fun to wear but in 20 years would be one of the few watches that will be worth more than what you paid for it. Unfortunately I would have to win the lottery to get one so will just have to admire from afar.

this is such a magnificent piece of engineering I am a complete novice of horology but I can appreciate the intricacies of such a fine timepiece my personal favorite is a vacheron Constantin I do like the Patek Philippe's as well unfortunately I am not financially secure enough to own such a marvelous piece so I too will look with amazement and astonishment at Perfection personified

I swear every time i watch one of your videos i'm blown away from the quality of the macros shots, wow, just wow.
Please do more videos about Vacheron Constantin, my favourite manufacturer, any of the Metiers d'Art piece would be amazing!

Absolutely stunning. I love something of immense quality.
They say quantity is something you can count.
And quality is something you can count on!

The A. Lange & Sõhne 1815 'Rattrapante' Perpetual is much superior to this watch but for me the holy grail is the Richard Lange Tourbillon 'Pour le Mérite' as it 'only' shows time (breath-takingly).

It doesn't look any better than a Chinese automatic watch and barely keeps better time. It still can't compare to a Quartz in that regard.
It doesn't matter how absolutely perfect it was put together or the quality of the components, the REAL reason it costs that much is because it's a status symbol and people will pay for it. That's not a knock on the quality. It's just that the quality isn't what makes it worth that much.
The funny thing is that many people have never even heard of the brand and think Rolex is the epitome of watch luxury because they couldn't even imagine paying more than a few thousand for a watch.

Incredible engineering, I think it's a stunning piece but my personal taste would be A. Lange & Sohne or a Breguet in the high price points, as I also collect antique pocket watches and tend to like traditional styling.

The chrono's seconds hand looks dirty...

This timepiece is a perfect example of the amalgamation, culmination, and balance of artistry, ingenuity, engineering, craft, and taste. This timepiece is perfection—in every way. There is no modern gadget (i.e. any "smartwatch") that can even dream to evoke in us the sense of awe, admiration, and respect for workmanship that we get from something like this... no amount of silicon, no amount of apps or features, no amount of RAM, CPU/GPU power, or storage capacity will ever cultivate in us the sense of love and wonder that we get from a timepiece like this one. Period. This watch is functional poetry. Like TGV says: "Absolute pure class..."

Mine would be a Patek Philippe Nautilus 5976 in white gold. I saw it at a convention and CRM Jewellers lately covered it. Its a beatiful piece and very large for Patek, still its proportions are perfect and i love it.

My ultimate splash watch would be the A. Lange & Söhne Zeitwerk Minute Repeater

This series is great. While I've never been in the market for a watch worth this sort of money, well-made analogue watches are fantastic.
