Putin Breaks Silence On Ukraine Standoff

Russian President Putin broke weeks of silence on Ukraine and for the first time responded to written proposals from the U.S. and NATO, saying “Russia’s concerns were basically ignored.” Putin also laid out his security demands, which didn’t change after weeks of negotiations with the U.S.

Non-offensive weapons by Russia's borders seems like a reasonable demand. Imagine if Mexico and Canada had offensive weapons at their borders. Honestly, what message does that send? Defensive weapons makes more sense.

The US should stop expanding NATO nor put missiles near the Russian border. In return Russia should leave Ukraine alone period

Putin did not like nato setting up right on the Ukraine and Russian border with missiles that could reach Moscow. He felt that as a threat to his country. For this to de escalate Ukraine and Nato could have pulled back from the border as sign of respect.

If Russia setup right on the US border with missile would the US do nothing?

Ukraine has worked with Russian aggression for years and years. What the United States is about to do is give us this generation's version of Vietnam. Even Ukraine has told America to calm it down with the talk of military presence in their country.

Now I think I can relate a bit more to Putin. If I were in the same boat, I'd terrified at the prospect that Ukraine will join NATO. This is the same as if Taiwan is able to join NATO. Imagine the panic that would cause China.
