Prigozhin was a loose cannon and he could be easily influenced by others . I think Russians would prefer to deal with him after their imminent victory in Ukraine. MI6 on the other hand that probably was behind that failed coup attempt needed him silenced. Anyway the way the West reacted to his death immediately blaming Putin shows that probably Putin had nothing to do with it.
