How to start a Slow Blues Solo

First impressions count! Here is a killer way to start a blues solo. This lick is one I picked up from the amazing Kirk Fletcher. There is a lot of SRV in this one too.

The cool thing is that you can float over time with these types of licks. You don’t have play 8th notes in time. Instead, you play freely, “floating over time”, so to speak. It’s a fun way to play, and it works really well over slow tunes.

Give it a try and share your recording on social media! Give it a hashtag of #startingabluessolo and post on twitter, instagram, facebook, etc.

I just noticed that it's easier to follow your left-hand fingerings on that bright maple neck. With my terrible eyesight, every little bit helps. Killer lick, as always!

Now THAT is a tasty and classy lick that fits in lots of places..I like using it by place the last part of the lick and then using the beginning in the middle of the phrase...

Just blown away by your tutorial and most importantly thank you for not talking to us like we're children, this is the best just like your other tutorial videos, it is so easy to follow, now my scales are starting to make sense, I've watched other guitar tutorials but sadly they're more into showing what they can do, yours is the best by far, thank you❤🎸🎸
