I am moved every time I watch this. Then I read A Promised Land, and found the meaning of what he meant when he said "you took on a role that you didn't ask for" and started tearing up again. I love that he just said her first name and stood there in silence and let people applaud. He didn’t try to cut in to continue his speech. He just let her have the moment. Such a subtle, beautiful gesture. I love this speech so much. I miss him so much. Agree with his policies or not - the man had class. You can’t deny that.
