This is completely mixed up and half true.. Shiva was worshipped in Indus valley civilization.. harrappa and mohenjodaro houses had shivlings, pots, tablets and even dead human fossils, molten bricks and rocks and radiation within the settlement. . 😊😊 and shiva and Vishnu were worshipped long before mediaeval period... Angkor vat is 1000 years old or older, Somnath jyotirlinga dates back to time immemorial no record of origin.. but Islam invaders destroyed it 3 or 5 times.. it was reconstructed every time by some hindu kings and queens.. latest was built by a queen.. .. the jyotirlinga was unharmed .. since its is of metallic and obsidian type body.. they couldn't get it out of the temple .. so they burnt and destroy the temple itself.. left in ruins.. Vishnu was worshipped before mediaeval Era because there was Ramayan and Mahabharat.. both were protagonised by lord Vishnu himself..
Cholas, pandyas, cheras, kalingas, magadha, Mauryan, Gupta dynasties etc.. were all long before the mediaeval Era. . they spread Vaishnavism and shaivism all over the south East Asian countries.. like Indonesia, Malaysia, Cambodia, Burma etc etc.. and the cholas and pandyas were enemies because they worshipped different gods .. either shiv or Vishnu.. adn about the Vedic era of Indus valley civilisation, .. its only an assumption since. Its not proven that vedas were created in that time period.. no its not proved.. it might b that it was copied from somewhere in that Era.. .
And carvings and paintings of goddess Saraswati with a Veena is still there in ancient ruins and cave sites of Mesopotamia civilization.. and Harappa too.. 😅😅. So . Things are complicated..

kakarot.
