Models do show something that could form. Given the CAG (Central American Gyre), which birthed Helene/Milton, another powerful storm is possible. These storms are hard to predict and may or may not form, as the models predict. Having said this, if you have storm shutters, I would not remove them until the end of hurricane season, which is still a long way off. When the NHC calls a storm that forms in the Gulf/Caribbean due to the CAG, you will have very short notice. You should be prepared now. Don't panic, but be smart. News weather forecasters can't say anything outside what the NWS/NHC puts out, otherwise they would be committing malpractice, because local newscasters are not the true professionals when it comes to the weather or hurricanes prediction. They just parrot the advisories from the NHC.
