Morris Minor - Meet Jean - Project Daily Drive #1

Finally doing this! This is a series looking at me upgrading my 1966 Morris Minor to help her on the roads of today. In this video we take a look at my car and what I have done so far, before we get into beginning work!

Well, I'm glad YouTube recommended this channel to me. I just love the Morris Minor looks and its no-nonsense simplicity. I grew up in a really out of the way place in the USA, but believe it or not, just down a side road and maybe 300 meters to the east, there was a Morris Minor convertible in a driveway. The town where I lived was extremely backward and prudish. Since there were two gents living in that house, it was rumored they were "homosexuals." I was admonished to never approach them. Too bad! I might have developed my admiration for the Morris Minor much earlier. Well, I went through many car phases in my life. I remember liking VW Beetles, then Citroen 2CVs, then Trabants and Wartburgs. But since I have been watching YouTubes more intensively, I have been reintroduced to Morris Minors. This classic car was made right up to the early 1970s! Well, okay, the Trabants and Wartburgs were made up until 1989. But still, I have managed to fall in love with Morris Minors even though I have never ridden in one! I love the seats and headrests in your car. No sense getting whiplash if you don't have to. The sideview mirrors are also spot on. I have seen other channels where there are disc brake and fuel injection upgrades. Why not? I'm all for making useful improvements. Okay, now I will have to binge watch all your videos. Better get right to it...

Just subbed. great video, Hi my daily drive is a Wolseley 1500 basically a morris- minor with the BMC 1.5 engine . at the mo restoring a Riley 1.5 bit by bit in my own time labour of love really .

Thanks for sharing. Are you thinking of a disc brake conversion? My '64 2 door has them. It gives you a little confidence when braking.

Hallo Mr. Frier ! I have a '57 Minor with no door key, I have to replace the tumbler with a new unit that has keys, can you please show a "how to" on how to replace the tumbler in a right hand door ? Thanks in advance Mate !
