Curado DC 151 XG Review - Keeping Bass Pinned

I discuss the benefits of using a higher gear ratio reel such as the Curado DC 151 XG, not only great for jerkbaits and tubes, but also keep bass pinned. I'm a multi-species fishermen too, so if I hook into a musky or pike, I think keeping line tension can help out extremely as well. All what ya like, I'm not primarily a bass fisherman, so this is what I like, tight lines!

Love the shimano products. I just snapped my curado cranking rod the other day at st.clair. I'm gonna have to stop in to Sportsman's direct

Keep them bronzebacks pinned with that 8:5:1 👊🙃 So unconventional, but don't care, I like what I like! Some days you gotta ask yourself, what's more important, keeping fish pinned or having the right gear ratio for some damn chatterbait when you could just reel slower or do a stop and go retrieve to keep your lure at the bottom... I just had way to do way much reeling with that 6:2:1, it just never felt right too me, prolly because I've been using spinning all my life... I guess I could of went with the 7:4:1, but what would be the fun in that, 151 XG all the way baby... Lower gear ratios for the birds!

I'm so glad I got the 2500 Nasci at 19" per crank for those chatterbaits. I'm blown away that the 3000 is 36". Shimano does not do that with any other reels. It's either high, low, or both for the 2500 & 3000. Not one high one low. So I'm glad they gave us a choice with the Nasci.
I've used 35 + 36" per crank spinning reels with chatterbaits and burned out the pinion gear, EVEN when I attempted to slow down the retrieve. The baitcaster is better designed to take the rigors of high speed pressure so that Curado should be just fine.
Where were you? Clinton? Bill?
