To be honest, that thought of ultimate interconnection scares the living shit out of me.

It is not the idea that my favourite song will start playing when I enter the room, it's the thought that somebody will use that technology to push my consciousness in certain direction. In the wrong hands, this initially beautiful tool will become yet again a way to enforce oppression.

I don't really take the goodness of mankind for granted. Using the internet of things to make the world a better place will be very, very hard work.

I am always absolutely astonished at how true all your words are and so congruent to the notion of future. But in this one, at minute 1:52 when you say the loop will be "finished", I would put it as: the loop will be completed and we will begin a new era of spreading our mind further... Just me, but the word finish just seems so terminal as if there, we will be done. I absolutely know that was not what you intended to mean, completion, stopped evolution, and maybe it is my being french speaking that gives me a different sense of the word, but I needed to say it. There, you have my two cents.

we're on our way there for sure....it's amazing to see some of the small pieces starting to fit together. Things like the windmap (google it!) ..that take thousands of points of data and combine them into one visual some of the work being done with twitter feeds that can predict certain events...all eventually being incorporated into a reactive 'living' very exciting to watch it all happening.

Any chance you could delve into the philosophy of addiction in video games? How someone can spend months of their life essentially doing nothing but still feel as though they've accomplished something. This could be related to your "Realities of the Virtual" video but I'm not too sure.

The new IoT concept reminds me of the awe and wonder of the microprocessor revolution in the 70s. Nobody took much notice, other than gaze at a few novelties ie calculator. Then the big bang happened when mini-computers, servers and PCs developed rapidly and feverishly around it! I see something like that happening again by 2020, something will run with this IoT so effectively that techies will be left wandering "why didn't I see that coming"...
