Quickly get proportions/likeness when drawing from life

I spent like an hour to two hours last night on a portrait that looked nothing like the model. I kept trying to fix it, and measure it to look like the person, but to no avail. Watched this, and in 20 minutes i had a drawing that was miles better. Thank you so much!!!

Yall seem so professional, ive always drawn semi realism based on my imagination, but when i tried to draw real people, i kept f-king up.

Your incredible!! You make it look so easy, gliding the chalk around.😂😂 I am just learning and I cañ never get a circle or egg shape correct the first few circles like you. I just can't glide my 🖋️ I start off like I'm writing and it drives me crazy because drawing should be relaxing..I get stressed.😂
