DIY Lilac Sugar Recipe

Lilacs are one of my favorite spring flowers, they are so fragrant. This quick and easy recipe is a great base for a sugar scrub, a simple syrup, a delicious ingredient for baking, and nice in afternoon tea! It makes a great mother’s day gift, birthday present, or a pretty sugar bowl for a tea party.

I also used the same recipe measurements and substituted rose petals for the lilacs, I loved how it turned out!

Thank you! Just a word of caution, washing your flowers (while normally a fabulous idea) may make the flavor weak. Most of the flavor of flowers is in the pollen dust on the petals! Happy crafting! 🌸

Do we keep the blossoms in the sugar, or do we remove them?

Do you close the jar? Because I tried that, and it smelled terrible the next day.
