I saw the original when I was 13. My mother did drop us off in town, it was a late movie and by the time
it was over, it was about 9:00....and we three kids had to walk three miles home on a lonely road. No flashlights and no moon. Times were surely different then.

I really liked this movie when I was a kid! I even painted a plastic egg to look like the Martian "eye" weapon. The Martian creatures were designed by Stan Winston, who also designed the Terminator machines and the Jurassic Park dinosaurs.
