I now find this after 30 years... Wow.
I watched it as a 6, 7, or 8 year old in germany in the early 1990s on VHS.
I could only remember like 4-5 scenes. The one with the Military in the school sinkhole, the rocket that was destroyed and like the use an eye of an alien with a copper stick to fire a laser, aswell as the teacher eating a frog.
So i put into google "Alien Movie Teacher eats frog" and first one was a hit

Watched this movie few weeks ago shown on a cable movie channel.First time since last time watched during the mid 1990s.This movie takes me back being in Jr.High when watched very 1st time on vhs video in 1987.

This was a great movie that just kinda got steamrolled by bigger box office hits in 1986, along with Cobra(Sylvester Stallone), Flight of the Navigator(Joey Cramer, Sarah-Jessica Parker), The Mosquito Coast(River Phoenix)They were quiet, but worth watching movies.
Of course hits like The Golden Child, Pretty in Pink, The Little Shop of Horrors, Labyrinth, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Aliens, Top Gun, Crocodile Dundee, Short Circuit, Platoon plus more all came out the same year, so there was a lot going on entertainment wise for people to really take notice.
