Today we do something a bit different I head over to @DavidVizard s house and we take his new 2023 Ecoboost Mustang out for a Dragy TEST and I give my impressions of his car!
while I'm a V8 guy this Turbo 4 cyl. Mustang packs quite a bang for the buck! how fast is it BONESTOCK? it's quick..just how quick? watch and you will find out!

I also have a Mustang Ecoboost. It's been to the dragstrip and the racetrack and does pretty well at both. I'm excited to see your quarter mile times as compared to mine. Yours should be quicker, mine is a 2018 so a bit less power and non grippy tires on it. I also dynoed all the various modes which was interesting. I'll make a video with the results.

This was Blue Oval great! David mentioned wheel spin off the line gave the motor a little extra boost. You might experiment with that at the drags. And what about a shot of nitrous? A slightly lower gear would pick up the 60 foot, too. 👍

I love my Dragy! I’ve used it at the track a handful of times, super accurate, less than a 1/4 of a mph and less than .04 ET difference compared to the clocks.

Thanks for sharing this. I've wondered what would happen if DV started working on Harley-Davidsons particularly the Evolution Sportster and other models. There's no one in the Harley world I can think of explaining stuff like DV does. Food for thought.

The base Mustang is a great car; it has all the handling and much of the power of the V8 cars with a whole lot less weight and expense. Smart choice by DV!

We just rented a 2022 Ecoboost Mustang and drove it for 1000 miles in central Nevada and it is an amazing car. I absolutely agree that it feels slow for just a second when you take off, but you sure feel it when the turbo spools up and the gearing in the automatic is tight and every gear puts it right back in the sweet spot of its torque band and it just keeps pulling! Very nice car and I can't wait to see what DV does with it!

Andy, Great to see David having fun with his new ride. Looks like even more fun to come. From Eco-boost to Ego-boost. If anyone can make eight-cylinder guys envious of a Ford four-banger, it's David!

Im trully interested in David's approach on direct injection porting and huge ledge behind valve seat on these. It's highly debateable and avoidable place for porters because porting it regular way by smoothing out the throat to valve seat ruins fuel air tumbling and makes it nightmare to tune and to run. Its only aproached when switching from direct to port injection. Or using light amount of direct fuel and suplementary fuel by adding sandwitch intake plate spacer for injectors. But ofcourse in portfather DV we trust and look for updates.
