My 72 Mustang 302 made a whopping 135 Horsepower, I’m 61 and it’s unbelievable that a 2.3 liter turbo 4 can make 300+ horsepower. The old gal drove like a boat and this car is a canyon carver. Don’t listen to people when they say old cars were better, they weren’t. I can’t wait to see what young folks do with this lil hot rod!!!

8 months with my 2024 EcoBoost, I LOVE it! I've had two 4.6 GT's, this is faster. I do miss the V-8 thunder but love everything else about the car. I'm getting used to the turbo 4's little growl. The car is solid, gorgeous, easy to live with, and I got 40mpg on a road trip to San Diego! Light years better than my older Mustangs. I call this my "grown up" Mustang. Real world stop and go city driving in Los Angeles I get about 21, used to get 12mpg in my last GT.

You're right about the EcoBoost, it's a very good deal and a better deal than the GT in a lot of ways.

I copped a shadow black ecoboost, with Active value Preformance and track package on it, one of the best purchases 🔥

Didnt buy a Mustang to save on petrol, I bought a 2017 Mustang GT Premium knowing it was gonna use 2 to 3 times the petrol i used in my Honda. Know too many people that bought ecoboost then sold to upgrade to a GT. Id take a eco oost over that damn mach-e though thats for sure

I’ve driven both the 2024 Ecoboost and the 2024 GT numerous times and I am currently in a 2020 Ecoboost. I have to say the 24 Ecoboost feels much quicker than the 2020 Eco. In comparison to the 24 GT I was actually underwhelmed driving the GT and expected a lot bigger power difference. At this point the biggest factor is the sound of the V8 engine to me and it’s unfortunate how hard that is to ignore as a 2024 Premium Ecoboost is such a great deal for what you get.

The tires are cheaper. The brake pads are cheaper. The EcoBoost takes 6 quarts of oil in a change. The V8 takes 10. Pretty much across the board the EcoBoost is significantly less cost to own. And you lose what? 2 tenths of a second to 60 mph? Virtually meaningless in the street. I'd take the EcoBoost hands down.

I had a 1984 Ford Mustang 5.0 with a four-barrel carburetor had 165 horsepower. The 1984 Ford Mustang 5.0 was the fastest US production car in 1984. I'm looking at the 2024 5.0 and the price of gas is holding me back. The 2025 Ford Mustang EcoBoost has 315 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque. the is about double what my fox body 5.0 had and that car was a lot of fun.

Noticed your car had the 18” wheels….would there be much change in the ride and road noise if I went with the 19” wheels?

I tip my hat to the Ecoboost mafia but I gotta be honest, the V8 is what stirs my blood. Really though, I think we all win. Something for everybody!

Having owned a 2015 GT 50th edition and a 2018 GT premium vert I don't really get the fuel economy complaints, I averaged 23mpg combined driving pretty hard and got 28 to 33mpg highway on both granted both were the 6 speed manual. I've gotta imagine people are running tunes or different setups or deliberately cruising at high RPM and that's killing their efficiency, both mine were stock on all seasons.

I also thought heavily on getting an ecoboost as my next commuter car to save money just driving to work while still driving a fun car but the fuel economy doesn't sound like it's much of an upgrade and a good half of the reason I loved my last 2 mustangs was for the sound and feeling alone. That V8 rumble at idle and then the sound it sings when you get up to 7K rpm is bliss.
