Despite his intimidating demeanor, you can see that Shadow does care.. he just has difficulty in expressing his real feelings and emotions. Plus, he's a conflicted character which makes him more interesting.

A quick scan of the comments there seems to be a misconception that Shadow doesn't normally care about anything. Absolutely not true. Shadow is stoic alot of the time but he cares deeply. He just shows it in his own way.

Shadow might be an edge lord, but he even has a heart. And when you do something that he sees unforgivable, he will not hesitate to hunt you down and face justice.

I’d love to see a Last Ronin style comic featuring Shadow as a brutal, grizzled vigilante in some alternate future where Dr. Eggman won and Shadow is the only survivor of the war between the Freedom Fighters and Eggman.

Crawling through the criminal underbelly of an industrial city under militaristic tyranny to get intel on the ones calling the shots as he climbs the ladder of criminal and corporate corruption to find his way to a Robotnik absolutely mad with power and finish the war that all his friends died fighting.

Shadow surprisingly didn't just chaos spear him in the head. You'd think he would of, especially considering his own imprisonment and views on letting criminals go.

Shadow being a chao dad is the most wholesome thing. The mistreatment of the creatures is so wrond because just look at them. If it was a darkz light or neutral they are too

I remember the Sonic Apologist once saying he thinks Shadow was the one who spent the most time in the Chao Garden. It makes sense, because he associates helpless individuals with his memories of Maria or otherwise. It stems from his empathy.
