Boeing Workers go on Strike. Can the Company Afford it? | Vantage with Palki Sharma

Thousands of Boeing factory workers in the United States walked off the job after voting overwhelmingly to reject a contract with the embattled aviation giant, its first strike in 16 years. A strike will shutter two major plane assembly plants for the 737 MAX and 777 in the Puget Sound region and sideline some 33,000 workers, further delaying the financially stressed company's turnaround efforts. How will Boeing deal with this? Palki Sharma tells you.

By ending the pension and raising healthcare costs by 500% and not having a pay increase in 16 years they better be able to afford it.

100% with the workers. After 16 years of no cost of living adjustments or raises and a sky rocketing inflation. 25 percent doesnt cut it. Dont wait so long to do right by your people next time you and you wont be in this position.

They fired their safety inspectors to save money. An ex-employee wrote that welders have no welding experience. The doors on the 737 Max go parachuting without a parachute.

We can assume that "Max" refers more to the level of Boeing's executives' salaries than it does to their level of safety.

Imagine not a single year of profit under your belt and walking away with a 32 million compensation package.

The thought of flying on a Boeing plane is quite scary.

The offer the company gave the workers was offensive to say the least. After over a decade of low stagnant wages while the company took advantage of them, they deserve everything they have asked for!

The federal government will bail them out 🤷

As long as CEOs total compensation packages continue to increase and major shareholders wealth increases, corporations CAN afford to meet striking employees demands.

"Denewala jab bhi dega dega chappad phad ke!" It is raining troubles for Boeing. This what happens when an engineering company is run and ruined by the financial whizards.

The company can get rid of ALL the McDonnell Douglas and GE management and get Boeing Engineers to replace them.

Boeing is good with the numbers, take some percentages from the broken managements and give to the workforce on the floor.

They offer 25% raise bonuses over 4 years but take away the yearly bonus.
