One step I found missing, at least for OMV 5: You need to mount the file system before it can be referenced by SMB/CIFS

Same problem with wifi and ethernet. I followed instructions carefully. As soon as I tried to add the Network Interface and then hit apply after a long long time I got a long long error message and now everything is hosed hosed hosed, including ethernet and wifi. On the pi I have no internet access. The ps aux | grep "vault" does seem to show that there is a vault process (I think).... I have the worst luck trying to get any kind of NAS working.

I somehow managed to install OMV but my external HDDs were in exFAT format and OMV wasn't able to mount them. I tried but wasn't able to find a solution to provide support for exFAT in OMV. Can you please help?

So I've created an OMV NAS on my PI. Also got OpenVPN able to connect. My question is, how can I get access to my share outside of my home? If I type in my pi IP address while OpenVPN is connected all I get is the OMV admin login screen, I want direct access to my SMB share. Thanks.

This series of videos is super helpful! One note, though: whenever you install OMV to use as a NAS, you lose you WiFi connection. I haven't found a valid method to solve this. Any help?

just a quick Q... maybe you can point to where to fix.

I have a 4TB drive mounted and working on OMV(6) on Rasp pi 4.
When I start transferring files over... it sorta crashes, or the rasp pi4 restarts..

i searched on google and most point to power issue. i bought a USB to sata with power from amazon for the 4TB drive.
i think power is good.

id like to know how exactly to configure this with my Windscribe VPN via PiVPN, the network configurations tend to conflict with each other. I had the VPN tunnel working correctly but hadn’t set up the filesharing via OMV yet.

I've once installed omv on my pi 4 and i've had an issue: before the installation of omv my wifi worked perfectly, but as soon as omv was installed, it was impossible to have wifi working...
