They were in Southern India, firstly in 1498 it was Vasco Da Gama, then Many Many others followed and were throughout SE Asia, including Australia and New Zealand. The Malays travelled extensively throughout Australia and NZ also prior to the Portuguese.

those "antennae" in the the enchanted valley ancient rock art seem to depict native American or indigenous people wearing traditional feathers as they represent a sort of honor for rank due to accomplishments...also the feather or plume is of a particular bird as feathers of different birds have stronger and more honor earned feathers for the ultimate honor as wearing the full head dress such as the cheif oir chieftan.

The holes on the rocks were used to grind corn or mesquite pods. Or they could have been used to hold staves for celestial calender purposes.
