When I’m blocked it’s usually because I’m trying too hard, putting myself under too much pressure and paranoid about ‘wasting’ supplies. Of course nothing can be as wasteful as buying stuff you don’t use. So I have to somehow make myself make intentionally ‘bad’ or ‘worthless’ art, like ‘waste a page a day’ and see how long I can stick to that. Sometimes all I do is write the date at the top of the page. But leaving that blank page turned out to be a surprisingly eloquent statement of how I felt that day, so even they weren’t wasted! So I even failed at failing🤣🤗

As an artist I can agree. Sometimes you find yourself writing a song based on a feeling another song gave you, using chords that you felt when you saw the sky that day or just a memory of a kiss, or the colors in a painting. And so the song you write becomes a Frankenstein's monster full of all those gathered pieces. But no one can tell because, your art allows you to be sneaky about all that lol.

This was chock full of great advice. The part you said about "limitations mean freedom" resonates so much with me. I've done videos where I use tarot cards to give me limitations on the art I create and it really helps me focus. I use the cards to tell me what art supplies to use, what colors to use, what theme to focus on and what my focal point should be. Je trouve très intelligent ce vous venez de nous démontrer. Mon problème à moi c’est que j’ai des idées plein la tête mais lorsque je viens pour les mettre à exécution c’est une tout autre histoire et si je le fais quand même ça neveux plus rien dire ça me décourage et j’arrête pour un temps.
