Peter Schiff did a great episode of his podcast about the GND when it was released. He referred to Alexandria throughout as "the bartender." She's an Econ major who apparently thinks that John Maynard Keynes and Milton Friedman are the same person.

Even the $93 trillion cost estimate doesn't convey how ABSURDLY expensive the GND would be. For that, we need a comparison: The US's entire GDP--the value of all goods and services produced, ALL of it--was only $21.43 trillion in 2019. So, she's essentially proposing that the ENTIRE US ECONOMY be shut down for 3-5 years and everything--every business, every worker, every school and university, every farm, every...--be devoted to her ridiculous plan. And she actually thinks that this would BENEFIT people's economic well-being. It's beyond ludicrous.

But watch Democracy Now, and you'll see that the American left thinks this is a great idea. I'm ashamed that I ever considered myself to be one of these people (not that I believed any of the insanity--other than the delusion that the 3rd Abrahamic faith is a "religion of peace"--that prevails there today). We're living through an age of madness.

It's like the name says: A new deal, a business, and it's only green from the outside. Inside it is red.

The green big deal has nothing to do with climate change or the environment in general, but everything to do with control.

The healthcare costs would be offset at least partially offset by reducing current healthcare insurance. I'm actually in favor of universal healthcare since we are almost there with Medicare and Medicaid. On the other hand the increase in the cost of energy, taxes and guaranteed living wage jobs would increase the cost of our goods and services. This would greatly increase the cost of living for everyone. Would also need to raise tariffs on all imports or lose jobs to countries not wasting money on a green new deal. All together a disaster.
