I like to imagine Pete Parsons was visited by 3 ghost in his sleep and learned some valuable lessons.

Bungie with their back against the wall is the best Bungie.

It’s like how sometimes a light bulb gets real bright before it burns out.

Something I’ve always wished for was that devs did more dev streams to show off what they were cooking rather than just putting it in a wall of text for you to read.

Thats why I always enjoyed whenever the Warframe devs did their dev streams. Seeing what they were working on and everything was so much more appealing than just reading a long article.

This happens every time Bungie is screwed. Happened in Taken King, Forsaken, Witch Queen to a lesser extent etc... Bungie has a panic button that they press that is effectively a mute button for the higher-ups so they stop making stupid decision and they just sit back and let the dev's cook. When that button is pressed, everything goes great.
Unfortunately, this still causes damage over time to their brand as it makes people more and more jaded over time with the ups and downs of the game.

The leadership that Sony called out is finally getting their shit kicked in.

It could be Sony stepping in a little bit telling Bungie to get their act together or else

Blizzard did the same thing back in Shadowlands expansion.
They refused to let you switch covenants with some BS excuse like "oh we simply cant, sorry!"
players began leaving en masse and all of a sudden Blizzard changed it so we could change covenants.

Game companies have been exposing themselves for the assholes they have been for years, this is why it is not praise worthy what Bungie is doing.
Because c'mon guys, we all know once Bungie has the cash dollar and sees player engagement go up again, it's back to business as usual with mistreating the game and their players.

Let's not suck Bungie off too much before we see the product. Remember we were hyped about Lightfall too.

Ngl this is typical bungie when they go through a period of treating players shit they deliver something to win them back. D1 vanilla to taken king. D2 vanilla to forsaken, Y3 launch to arrivals, sunsetting to anniversary and then witch queen. If they were like this all the time I’d be fine

Anyone else genuinely think Bungie needs to start doing weekly livestreams just to bring back that trust between them and the community? Even if it's just to talk about updates and things. I feel like it would go a long way towards showing they care about the players.

What if, This is from an outsider perspective Asmongold purpose that what if the massive layoff was actually a good idea? Like all he heard was bad things about destiny from us maybe it was time we move on? (Btw the composer is the only thing i will never understand cause like wtf can he do is bad lol). Maybe the old devs were holding the game back? shrug.

Its possible, i mean, all of us were seeing the dumbster fire they been building, maybe we really had to fire those people for not changing

You know what it finally is, too? Competition. Real, genuine competition, combined with us fans finally getting tired of their bland corporate slush.

As an avid fan since launch, up until Lightfall, I’ve seen so many “Destiny-Killers” come and go, flopping so hard it’s embarrassing. But, there’s a game right NOW, even inspired by Bungie’s all-time best work, that’s currently rocking the world, and I really do feel like that’s part of what’s pushing Bungie.

Arrowhead and Helldivers 2 are kicking ass and taking names right now, and Bungie knows it. Even if not intentionally, (which I doubt because of all the Halo influence on HD2) Arrowhead is quickly taking Bungie’s crown as the fan-favorite game dev right now.
It gets even MORE complicated when you remember Helldivers 2 is a SONY game. Imagine being Bungie, with their extremely powerful pedigree, and some underdog studio drops a random game that’s wiping the FLOOR with nearly every other shooter out there. Helldivers 2 is doing what Destiny did when Destiny launched, and Bungie knows.

Lastly, if there’s one thing corporate execs love to look at, it’s numbers. Check the Steam Charts for both games real quick, then come back. You back? Holy crap, right? I’ve never seen Destiny hanging that low in my life, and Helldivers has more concurrent players right NOW, Today, on this Saturday night than Destiny has had on some of its expansion launches.

If you ask me, I hope what’s happening is either Bungie’s near-death adrenaline-rush, getting rid of the bloat and corporate rot and returning to form, or this really, truly is their swan song.

Either way, it’s been a ride, fellas. I’m excited to see what happens next.

EDIT: My bad! I didn’t realize Arrowhead were independent and Sony was just a publishing house for them, that makes sense. BUT, you should think twice if Sony doesn’t have a significant say in what happens/doesn’t happen as a part of that partnership deal. Arrowhead has way more to gain/lose than Sony does from that deal, so they’re gonna do their best to... well, do their best, if you know what I mean.

If I remember correctly, the last time Bungie actually went "Live" while discussing and showing off upcoming content, was Season of Dawn.. Yeah.. 4 years + ago.. Wild..

something in my mind for eyars has been telling me. "i feel like whenever the game is like dying or dead to a point where its like stable you know. that would be at the best probobly" but i dont rlly want destiny to die. but thats what happened with destiny 1 right after the april; update. then we got destiny 2
