Don’t believe the Lies - People are Buying PS5 Pro

Sony’s upcoming PS5 Pro has charted as the best-selling video game console in multiple regions on Amazon after preorders went live last week.

Amazon listings in territories including the United States have displayed the PS5 Pro as the leading console, despite the fact it carries a hefty price tag of $699.99/£699.99. All in all, the PS5 Pro is the best-selling console on Amazon in the US, UK, Germany, Italy, Japan, France and Spain.

30th Anniversary PS5 Pro CANCELLED for some Purchasers

Retailers, and PS Direct itself, appear to have oversold PlayStation 30th anniversary PS5 / PS5 Pro console and DualSense controllers. We’ve seen enough reports of players having their preorders canceled to deduce that these aren’t isolated incidents, presumably stemming from a large number of people attempting to preorder the items at the same time.

We first noticed complaints that PS Direct was canceling preorders for the “highly limited” 30th anniversary consoles and accessories soon after the store had run out of stock. Some players got an email confirming the cancellation almost a day after they had successfully preordered the products, which is understandably upsetting.

This weekend, we saw the same reports coming from players who had preordered the themed consoles and accessories from Amazon and GameStop. The cancellations aren’t limited to a single product either. People have had their preorders canceled for the themed PS5 Slim, PS5 Pro, and even the DualSense controllers.

To add insult to injury, Amazon is apparently handing out $5 vouchers as an apology for the “inconvenience.”

Other possible contenders for awards include Silent Hill 2, Helldivers 2, and Black Myth: Wukong – all console exclusives.

For $700 it should come with 4TB, a disc drive and a DualSense Edge instead of a regular DualSense.

2024 is bad cuz real gamers were taken for granted and replaced by quick-insta-fame-fake-gurus. By ppl who once called us 'losers' cuz we were gamers or loved Anime and comic books. Now use our tech to make sick money and destroy self-esteem of others. Smelled a chance for a quick buck and stole our platforms. so many content creators now claim that the Pro is such a great and needed upgrade. meanwhile Nintendo CONSISTENTLY releases consoles that are significantly weaker than the competition, yet still put out top selling game after top selling game. Sony should still focus on good hardware to a certain extent for sure, but they need to start focusing more on better and better quality new games instead of remasters and remakes of remasters and remakes.

I don't think $699 is too much. If you're putting together a PC that can realistically beat the Pro, you're looking at 1100-1200 dollars.

So when the controllers go because of Stick Drift (way faster than they should) I am out $450 which is the price I bought the PS5 for. If I buy a PS5 Pro I am out minimum $700. Why? Can't play games without a proper controller... Don't believe I should throw money into a burn barrel. If Sony would show some integrity and I don't know, actually give us a playable controller...they would make more money from people like me and I don't think I am alone.

700!? Here in Norway it's 1100! The standard version is about 550. The affiliate link you've provided says you have to pay 450, so only 250 more? We have to pay 600 more! If you factor in the 2 Tb storage, i'd say 250 more with the new hardware is not thaaat bad of a deal. Whether you need it or it is necessary is something else.

We all have our own PS5 in our house (x3) and we considered upgrading them to the Pros but when we found out it didn’t come with a disk drive we’ve all decided to buy the next Nintendo Switch instead when they drop and wait until the PS6 arrives in a few years over getting the Pros.

Stellar blade it's not a Souls like game it's more like Devil May Cry or Bayonetta in my opinion although it's not really like those games either it's definitely its own type of game which I really enjoyed

I want to play all my PS5 games with my Dualshock 4 controllers.
They are lighter, smaller and charge lasts longer.

If you already have a ps5 and can’t afford the £700 then just wait till next year when the price might drop in time for gta 6. We have all had to go without in our lifetime it’s not rocket science. We don’t need to have these things immediately. I just had to fork out 500 on dental bills and that is essential.start living your life in advance assume that the next big cost is round the corner and try keep money in the bank for a rainy day cause it’s Britain and it’s always raining here....

$1200 here in Australia. Plus I want the drive. Another $200 on top of that. No I didnt buy it. From what I've seen it just isnt worth the update unless you have a 4K 120hz OLED. I play the PS5 on a monitor and my TV is a 2016 Bravia thats still going strong. I'll probably wait until the PS6, and instead of buying the Pro. Upgrade my monitor to a 4K 120hz.

Whenever the pro gets a future discount, which is right now a few years a way....then I'll consider getting it. For now I'm completely content with my base ps5
