Can I Tig Weld with my WRONG HAND...?

Watch as I take my steady tig welding hands and make it SUPER AWKWARD! I've always said the best way to get better with practice is to challenge yourself to do things that are hard... but this was...humbling. I don't think I ever really realize how awkward things are all of a sudden when switching it up to use my bad had to control things...but I had fun with this one! Grab a coffee and come hang!

Great lesson, and I agree with another poster. Your off hand looks way better than my strong hand 😁 Much love to you Dusty, and may God continue to bless you!

I’ve been doing this lately. Since I’m fairly new at tig welding, I figured before I get locked in on one hand, I wanna be versatile with left and right hand. Thanks for the vid Dusty. Great story at the end too...it’s all about paying it forward 👍🏼

im fairly right hand dominant but in school during my tig class i learned to tig with my left hand because filling always felt better in my right hand. best decision i have ever made. my welds dont look nearly as good as yours on stainless but ive gotten to the point where i am equally as comfortable in both hands, makes life at work much easier lol. highly recommend everyone to use both hands when youre starting out

Dusty, I am right handed and started tig welding last week. With a bunch of practice in already I have found that I am much more comfortable with the tig torch in my left hand. My only idea is I play guitar (right handed) so my left hand has a lot of dexterity. Thanks for all the videos, they are really helping out.

I'm a lefty just got my first TIG and appreciate your left tutorials and how hard it is to flick sides.

Learning to weld with either hand whether TIG, MIG or Stick is beneficial. There will be situations where it can be the only option to get the job done. Being able to do it can make the difference between getting a job done or having to walk away.

My left hand welds look similar to the edge of a sloppy cut with the oxy ace torch lol. Good on you bro and good vid, I now feel more motivated to try it out. There have been many times I could have used being ambidextrous with mig and tig. Keep em coming

Love the channel man! I just turned 17 and I've been getting into industrial type work and want to get into welding, got any budget friendly equipment idea so I can start making stuff or repairing in the future.
P.s. the spray paint extras added to your art is rad.

Lol I just had to do that. Done it before. But its definitely something to practice. Like using the foot pedal with your elbow. Or shoulder.

Hey this was obv not the intent of this video, but it was interesting to see the struggle with the camera. A couple of weeks ago I made an adapter to mount an auto-darkening welding filter on my camera lens as if it was just a regular lens filter. I did some test filming from about 1.5-2m away using an 85mm lens and for a first go it turned out not bad (I did screw some stuff up in the camera setup too though, lol). Awesome thing was not only that the camera was a LONG way away, but I could do a continuous shoot with both talking and welding - and it didn't have that green colour tint for either shot despite both beng through the filter.
