What’s crazy is that I welded aluminum with a “stainless mentality” until I had to weld a 1/4 throttle body to an intake manifold with only 120amps. It made me sit at the start for about 30 seconds with full pedal but that was the BEST aluminum welding I’ve ever done. Thanks for the confirmation. You’re doing a good work here.

Good evening, my name is Scott and I sure appreciate your taking the time to provide all your experience and expertise to show us out here tips for being a better welder. I've had a Lincoln Square Wave 175 now for a minimum of 20 years and while it's old school technology, it does do the job fairly well, as long as I take care of my end of the deal. But, watching your videos sure has helped me with some mistakes I've been doing for many years. I'm gonna take your free Aluminum welding class very soon to further augment my aluminum welding capabilities. Thank you so much for your assistance. Very much appreciated.

I have two tig welders just 20 feet from me every day. Never tried it but the way you showed and explained seemed to clear some things up. I'm going to try for the first time.

Good video, I welded Ali mig tig all over the world for 40 years. Any new people here take this information as Gospel. The rounded shiny cleen tungsten is key as well as matching gas flow with shroud size, and correct frequency. Also clean everything perfectly even the filler wire . You must use a tonn if scrap Ali to play around and learn the machine until you become one with it .

Hi. I just watched your free class, and it is excellent. I'm a second year welding student at a technical college, and your lesson covered some fundamentals that I knew I needed, but wouldn't have known how to articulate to my instructors. Thank you.

After over 12 months of watching Dusty’s videos the best tip I’ve leant that is now helping make my welds look like he’s is he only uses 1/8 filler rods! By using more filler material the work doesn’t get as hot and really helps get that perfect looking profile!

A lot of people say that you can only use green (pure) tungsten with transformer machines on AC, but I had excellent performance with purple (E3) on my old Miller 320A/BP.

I am in welding school right now, and they made a point of saying the green tungsten should be rounded at the tip instead of a point. Thanks for the video.

Depending on what machines you use some don't ball up some use pure some recommend not to use certain tungsten but with old transformer machines pure is going to ball no matter what and other tungsten may not as much I use 4% thorated Thoriated(orange) with my Miller syncrowave 250dx and it's works the best I found and holds up a lot better
