HUMAN KIND - No One’s Life Is 100% Happy All The Time. We Need To Stop Judging Others.

Life is full of ups and downs, ebb and flow. Things happen that create sadness, grief, anger and fear. No one’s life is 100% happy all the time.

We need to stop judging others and realise that we have no idea what someone else is going through. If someone is being rude, give them the benefit of the doubt that they may be having a rough day. You may just have one of those yourself someday soon...

And if we make it okay to be open and honest when we are struggling, it allows each of us to have a deeper level of understanding. So let's all work on becoming more compassionate. Together, we can help each other and ourselves.

Filmed in Barrydale, South Africa.
Featuring Anton de Villiers.

All of our films are made possible through the generous support of our patrons.

Who is Green Renaissance? We are Michael and Justine - passionate filmmakers, living off-grid and dedicating our time to making films that we hope will inspire and share positivity out into the world.

Some people go to church every week.
While others, no.
And me...
I watch your videos with growing admiration
Thank you.

I like this man, he has a good heart, even if he thinks he hasn’t. He openly admits to his flaws and tries to better himself, that’s how humankind should be, it’s the people who believe they are faultless that are the problem

He’s tidy, disciplined, insightful, intelligent and honest. He’s been hurt. His love for his dog shows his compassion. Being happy and perky is no more real or important than being neutral and melancholic. I like him.

“I’m cold...my feet are cold.” So was his heart. It took a creature, unwanted and outcast, to rekindle the flame of love in Anton de Villiers’ heart. This beautiful and touching story is sensitively told, and the message powerful; if we have compassion and open our heart to others, we too will experience love.

I saw this just a moment after I found that torrential rain had destroyed all my photos, writings and albums. I'm 74. There were a lot of cherished photos. I looked at my dog and thought: it's time to end all attachments and live just for today. Like she does. Thank you for this story. ♥

He is a sincere and honest person who has a deep understanding of love and compassion. Picking up trash on the street, taking care of abandoned dog, , , He is shining his light toward the world although he thought he is not a beautiful person himself. Thank you for sharing. 🙏

Very touching story. I find it interesting that he describes himself as a very critical person, always finding fault with others and he ends up adopting a toothless dog. I wonder what is keeping him from seeing his own beautiful soul.

This one brought tears to my eyes. He may not like himself but he is very likeable.

What a beautiful, gentle, kind hearted man. He has such a sweet soul even if sadly he can't see it. I hope he finds the happiness he deserves.

I like him because he is so human and honest that he does not pretend positivity and joy when he does not feel it, but he recognizes the goodness and hope

Your sweet pup came to teach you a great lesson about love. It doesn't matter who we love, it just matters that we love. Never give up. There is still sweetness in the world.

I’ve watched a good number of Green Renaissance videos and each and every one of them has inspired me and warmed my heart. But this is the first video that brought tears to my eyes. This man is so open, honest and authentic. He is obviously loving and caring (notice how he picks up the litter on the street and of course, takes in a dog that nobody wants). I believe, despite his tendency to criticise which he talks about, I would like him very much indeed. The story of his dog just touches very deeply. And the bookstore looks lovely.

I would love to sit down with this man and share a cup of tea and just talk about life and hope and love

This House of Books is a beacon of hope and kindness, a marketplace for human stories that touch the soul, like yours dear Sir. I should like to call you Minister of Hope and Stories that Nourish the Soul. My hat goes off to you for seeing all the faults, but not taking them too seriously. For if you did, you would not be where you are, doing what you do.

And the idea of keeping on despite whatever trauma or disappointment to eventually find love is one dear to my heart. Thank you. Most beautifully told...
