The Archer push up is an advanced variation of the push up, and it places great emphasis on the back and arms than standard push ups. It's actually a great exercise to do if you're working your way up to a one arm push up too. Watch our video on how to do an Archer push up here.

1. Start in a standard push up position and place your hands slightly wider than shoulder width apart.
2. Brace your core and then transfer your weight to the right hand as you lower you chest to the ground. At the same time, straighten your left arm out to the left side.
3. Stop just before your chest reaches the floor, then push yourself back up to the middle, and repeat on the other side.
