i've got this same error litterally since 2018. I've tried all these tips, aswell as about every single tip the world wide web has to offer. since ive been unable to update windows i have migrated my boot-drive over to an ssd, swaped motherboard and cpu, my two hdd's have been formated. not one thing has had any effect what so ever

sfc/ scannow worked for me. After using it a security update I didn't know I was missing popped up and after installing that the main update itself installed with no issue.
