Yo guys, today on @RenderRam I'm showing you some tips on Data Channel in 3ds max, and how you can create some nice procedural effects. It's shown with rust, but it can really be anything.

This is absolutely outstanding. There are so few tutorials for learning the Data Channel in 3ds Max. I’ve occasionally checked them out, but I never felt the urge to dive deeper. You explain it in such an interesting way. I hope you'll create another tutorial in the future on how to use this amazing tool.

the mesh smooth un-apply to whole selection just blew my mind - I have been searching for this one for decades and have used more complicated destructive and slow methods. Thank you!!!!

Having details only where they should be, is fantastic! Yeah, Data channel it's not so easy to learn, but, worth it.

If the effect was inverted, the rust could easily become welding artifacts.
