The Kirk Douglas Theatre in Culver City has a colorful and surprising history, having begun life as the Culver Theatre. The history involves a major theft, a quick-draw (with guns) contest, screaming Elvis fans and more.
This history was presented live at our general meeting and program.
Our Historical Society was created for the purpose of collecting, preserving and exhibiting the history, cultural and civic accomplishments of Culver City and its environs. Our Channel uses today's media to further that mission.
