The IRS only requires the past six years to be filed.

I really appriciate this. Lost my job at the end of 2021. I've been working food delivery like Grubhub and doordash as my only job since then and in the first year I had no idea it wasn't going to be like a regular job were they withhold. I should have put it together but I was just driving to try and catch up on bills and such. So when tax time came I was not ready and I was very confused about the paperwork and when to fill for quarterly and such. I've been working this whole year trying to keep in mind I'm going to need to pay this and last year. I didn't know about late fees and such. But this gave me some hope that I can work with the IRS to make it sorta manageable.

PS…….the IRS STILL….has never shown the verbiage that states that all us citizens must pay INCOME tax…. The test they refer to starts out as…. “ for those that are required to file…”…. But there is never a definition of WHO…IS…REQUIRED…TO FILE.

I have a dollar…. I hand it to you…. And the IRS says that they get 20 cents of it…. You hand it back to me.. ( now 80 cents)…. And the IRS says that they get 16 cents…. I know have 64 cents and I held it to you… and the IRS SAYS THAT they get 15 cents…..

Let’s try this a different way. I paint your house…. I…..LOST….I…LOST….a day out of my life….. and you reimburse me $100…. For my loss….. and the IRS calls that “ income” …or gain…. That’s BULL….I….LOST……a day out of my life and a day out of my life is worth a million dollars…. There was no income…. There was compensation for loss.
Should we all contribute to support teachers, firemen and roads? Yes of course….
But I….. did….not….gain….
Someone who has a million dollars in investments and at the end of the year the million dollars has grown to 1.1 million….. THAT… is gain…
Mine was a compensation far short of my loss
