I've been enjoying your videos. I commented before. I'm an up-and-coming IRS employee with ACS, SBSE. 😊. Keep up the good work.

Great info, I often wondered how they decided who got audited.
I got audited last year for my 2019 return. Still have not been able to clear it up, I have two girls I've filled all their lives, one turned 17 December 23rd of 2021 so I couldn't file child tax credit for her "even though" they changed it just months later lol.. I couldn't understand why after 17 years they decided I have to prove I had the right to file them on my taxes but I submitted everything they asked for and still have not been able to get it resolved, of course they kept this year's return as well so I'm "assuming" once they realize I'm right and have done no wrong they will release both returns 🤔.. of course I don't know how that works I may have to go through the entire process again.

Can you do a video on SCorp audits and whether an Accountable Plan is a red flag for an audit?? Thanks

Easy way to avoid audit is to exempt yourself and do not file a return.

Hi Mike! Thanks for that very informative video!
I've been audited by the IRS. They send me a letter of a "Notice of Deficiency" and the date to reply has already passed (March 15). The letter was sent to my previous address. Something told me to stop by; coincidentally, I found a couple mails, and that letter was among them... What should I do in this case? How do I approach this situation?... Thank You!

Questiin:!if you do not respond to a state audit (New York) and are assessed tens of thousands of dollars because of it, is an irs audit bound to follow as well or does irs simply automatically assess the tens thousands of dollars as well based on the state tax audit assessment? (Due to non response)

What happens if your audit case was closed with no change and you were expecting a refund on your tax return… wouldn’t you still get that refund?
