Winning My First Godot Game Jam?!

I've got so many games out and so few devlogs for them finished. But we're getting there!

I highly recommend joining the Godot Wild Jam if you're interested in Godot at all! 9 days is a pretty solid amount of time to make a game. I learned a lot!

This is the best scope management I think I've seen for a game jam, super smart with the horizontal slice goal. The game turned out amazing!

fellow Godot UI enjoyer!! it's honestly so fun to make UIs in Godot once you get the hang of it, it's unbelievable

also WOW congrats on the super polished game! that's crazy you were able to make something so well made in such a short time :0

3:28 I wouldn't say im a godot *expert* per say, but I've used the engine a lot so I suppose I qualify.

Pretty much, whenever I plan on using something more than once, I'll make a scene and export any important variables so that I can edit the variables in each instance of the scene.

I also usually make a scene for any particularly complex/important thing, like the player character for example, because then you can edit it in it's own tab without anything else getting in the way.

But thats about it.

Scrolling through YouTube video thumbnails... wait, I recognize that dragon! 😀 Congrats on the game! It was really cute and fun.

One thing I found a bit odd about the ending though: if you fail to navigate the game's challenges, when the dragon is presented to the king, a hound comes into the throneroom and the dragon panics and attacks it, disgracing itself... but if you do better, the hound doesn't appear at all. I would have preferred it if the hound appears regardless (since whether it comes in or not doesn't really depend on anything you've done previously), but the dragon behaves better and gets to move on to a successful ending and epilogue.

Anyway, it was a very minor thing. Congrats again!

LETSGOOO, moka winning on her FIRST EVER GAME (in Godot) Great job moke and scoot on the art, and for giving us the little dragon baby. Also that ending graphic absolutely kills me.

Really cute game and video! How on earth isn't this channel like extremely popular?! Please keep making stuff, I'll be cheering for you on from now on :D

By the way, I'm impressed at how well you managed your time. I'm really bad at managing scope for my game jam games.

I needed some inspiration for my game and this did it for me. Also, I love your voice! Might just add a narrator to my game.
