It's a clash of two TV legends as Jay Leno recently called his custom Orange County Chopper "junk" after the bike experienced an electrical problem and a breakdown on a California Highway many years ago. We caught up with Orange County Choppers frontman Paul Teutul Sr. to get his response to Jay Leno's criticism of his famous motorcycles. Jay Leno says he was never a fan of choppers because he doesn't understand the concept of making it slower will less braking power and control. OCC's Paul Teutul Sr argues that he rides his chopper all over and it's not a riding style for everyone. Paul Teutul Sr. also talks about Orange County Choppers' many appearances on the Tonight Show and how he feels the true reason for the for Leno calling out his bike could be that he appeared on Dave Letterman's Tonight Show twice as much. We also ask the 75-year-old Orange County Chopper star what he's doing now, how he likes living in Florida and what's up next for the OCC Brand.

To save everyone 18 minutes and 49 seconds:
Jay Leno was right, and Sr's feelings are hurt.

Wow…Jay Leno graciously invites You to his shop, gives you a tour, gives you his time. You then run down to Paul Teutul and use Leno’s interview against him.

What a pathetic thing to do. I bet you were the kid in school who went to the recess lady and tattled on other kids.

Real punk move dude, real punk move. To get an opportunity to interview Jay Leno and then snitch to Paul, only to get a drama going.

Leno wasn't complaining that there was a short in the tail light. He was complaining that it was wired in such a way that if the tail light goes the entire electrical system shuts down.

I always remember Jesse James comments about OCC built bikes..."They're cake decorators" 🤣

If you ever watched Paul on his TV show, you know he can’t take constructive criticism

Jay isn't the only one who tells the truth about orange county choppers.

An OCC bike is the motorized equivalent of a giant foam cowboy hat

American Chopper was really a series about a dysfunctional father/son relationship. The Teutuls were never viewed as serious bike builders by those of us who ride.

I worked as an engineer for Caterpillar and they built a bike for them. When they brought it to our plant we literally laughed at it. Welds, paint, wires out, the whole bike was just fashion or art. Not real engineering imo.

OCC doesn't build bikes, they build showroom billboards.

A few points here.

Old mate trying to talk his way out of the electrical issue was pathetic.

And the fact that he thinks that using all quality components will make up for poor design is scary and shows the real problem.

As for the 35° angle thing....as soon as you change the height of the front or the back it will change the required angle. Once again, scary that he appears not to know this.

As for the interviewer, he knows old mate is full of shit, but he is too weak to call it out. Instead he tries to make it sound like Jay has the sour grapes. I doubt Jay will give him another interview 😅

We sold Orange County Choppers at our motorcycle shop when they first started. They were a piece of crap that we were always repairing for customers. They did not honor their so called warranty.

I was a huge American Chopper fan. I never owned an OCC, but I knew a few people that did. I rode 2 and they were definitely choppers. They were brutal to ride. They used the best components and they were all POS's that were constantly broken down. Electrical problems were reoccurring and bad welds were proof that they were OCC.

I spoke to a motorcycle dealership that sold custom motorcycles in Evansville back in the late 90s and they said they were the biggest pieces of junk on the market and to never buy them.
