Don’t know why its a tragedy that family has seen more wealth in a few years than the average person will see in their whole life ..🤷‍♂️

I knew all of these guys. I worked in a NAPA that they used to frequent, even did some machine work for them. There was a great deal of Skill and Talent in the fabricators, computer modeling, etc. Unfortunately, the skill and talent of many was overshadowed by a couple egos. Jr. was famous for snubbing local people, he developed a bad reputation in the local community for that behavior. It was sad to watch bridges being lit on fire. I wish them well. Perhaps, someday, they will learn what is REALLY important in life.

I watched the show, and always thought that Jr. wasn't that talented. They used standard premade frames, standard premade tanks and other tins, and only made some modifications to premade parts. About that same time, Biker Build-Off was on, and the likes of Indian Larry, Billy Lane and others caught my attention. They custom built everything. THAT is talent.

I went out to Orange County years ago...seeing these bikes up close...they were junk, Jay was just being kind.

"brilliant motorcycle crafter", that is a bold use of the word brilliant.

I belong to a Vietnam Veteran MC, and we all rode to OCC because Senior was all about veterans on the show so figure he'd chat with us. We were in the parking lot when he pulled in on his bike, he passed us like two feet away nodded and kept going. We went inside his business figuring maybe he would be around. No senior to be seen so we asked if he was around, they checked with whoever and we were told he wasn't even there. Yeah, ok we just saw him ride in. We left screw him the phony bastard.

"It was a twist that no-one expected, but everyone saw coming." Lol.

Jay Leno said their bikes are unsafe and unrideable. These guys built novelties not motorcycles.

From watching the show. Senior seemed to be a good business man. But suffered from severe anger issues. Junior was an incredible artist. That went to his head.
Now what was reality?

I think you're using the word "brilliant" and "remarkable" a little too much.

I became ill in 2003 and had to give up work. I loved the OCC guys it was my day at work. The work banter made it feel like I was there working with them. The humour you get when men work together is hard to replace. It was a pleasure to watch the craftsmanship and hard work that went into each bike build. It may have seemed like a show about building bikes but it served a greater purpose.

For me, my father deserves my respect. I would never challenge him to a point of disrespect. If I was "that" sure I could do better, I would step away and prove or fail my point. But I would not do anything to tarnish my dads successes (whether I thought I was right or wrong).

So no matter how Sr badly handled things, I think Jr should have moved on earlier to succeed or fail on his own merit. But I stopped watching both of them as I lost respect for both of them once they tantrum'ed as a business man, father, son or man. That stuff is toxic and not entertaining. Being powered by ego and pride does not ensure success or a healthy life/relationship.

Jr has an amazingly talented. I did watch a couple of his shows but what surprised me was that the design of the bike was in his head and companies would go ahead with the build without knowing what the finished product looked like. You may be good but I wouldn't want you to start something without me knowing what it looks like.

Motorcycle bling for people who didn’t know better, but it was hilarious 😆

These people make overpriced ornaments, not motorcycles.

I can understand hating a family member who you felt for whatever reason took you through hell for years. But at the same time I’m sure he’s really conflicted because the guy who put you through hell also gave or taught you everything in life that brought you to success

The fault is in neither hands. Two artist can’t work on one painting because of their challenging minds. This was all an experience that Paul jr needed to go through to get to the level he has become in the business which not many people have. It strengthen his work ethic and was able to paint a painting on a canvas on his own with pride. Paul senior is doing what he always did build bikes and should be old enough to leave the past behind and encourage his son to success and build a relationship outside of the business so they can be part of a family that they never had with pride and love for a son that has grown up with the disappointment that he has given his son with alcoholic intendancies. Now is a time both could have a loving relationship but in a way that it doesn’t choke one another. I wish both these men luck on both business and personal relationships.
